Get To Know Celia
Perspective in Practice
When she is home, Celia enjoys curling up with a good book and her cat, and spending time with her family in Santa Fe. For Celia, life is about finding something to appreciate in every moment, making the best of the circumstances in front of you, and staying open to whatever comes next.
A born-and-raised New Mexican, Celia grew up in Santa Fe and continues to love calling the Land of Enchantment home. After graduating from high school in Santa Fe, she moved to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. Celia spent five years working as a journalist in and around Albuquerque, focusing on issues affecting underserved communities.
Celia graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law and began her legal career as a public defender. During law school, she focused much of her academic and extracurricular work on gender justice and gender studies in the law, with particular attention to LGBTQ+ rights and women’s rights. Her experiences strengthened her commitment to advocating for people and communities whose voices are too often overlooked. She now focuses her practice on family law, where she brings a supportive, compassionate, and thoughtful approach to helping clients navigate complex legal and personal matters.
Celia was raised by a single mother whose example taught her the importance of kindness, compassion, and showing up for others. Those values continue to guide her work as an attorney. She strives to listen closely to each client’s needs, understand the unique circumstances of their family, and provide steady guidance through what can be an emotionally challenging process. Celia believes that effective advocacy means not only understanding the law, but also making sure clients feel heard, supported, and confident as they move forward.
