I grew up in the Phoenix area, and from an early age, I learned the value of hard work and service, first in the Navy, then as a teacher, and now as an attorney. Every step of my journey has been about helping others and doing work that matters.
In my free time, you’ll usually find me working on cars, fixing things around the house, or watching a Diamondbacks game with my dog, Dexter. I like to stay hands-on and engaged, both in my personal life and in how I approach my work. I bring that same mindset to every client I represent. Callan was born and raised in the greater Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. After graduating from high school in 2008, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as an aviation mechanic. During his service, he deployed for seven months to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Harry S. Truman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned home and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Following graduation, Callan began teaching math and English language development to underprivileged 4th and 5th grade students at a Title I school. His experience in the classroom deepened his passion for service and advocacy, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in law.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he served as president of the Elder Law and Estate Planning Society and participated in the Community Lawyering Clinic. There, he assisted individuals with a broad range of legal matters, including divorce, citizenship, wills and probate, and powers of attorney. He also interned with the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, where he would later go on to practice after graduation.
As a prosecutor with the 13th Judicial District, Callan handled thousands of cases, including DUIs, aggravated stalking, drug possession, and various forms of battery. He spent hundreds of hours in court, managing everything from pretrial conferences and motion hearings to full jury trials. His work also involved extensive negotiation, sharpening his ability to find practical, effective resolutions to complex legal issues.
Callan credits his wide-ranging professional and personal experiences—including military service, teaching, and legal practice—for giving him a unique and empathetic perspective. These experiences enable him to better understand and meet the diverse needs of those he serves.
